The long awaited D50 digital to analogue converter from Hegel has now landed​​, and has been designed to produce the best possible quality from Compact Disc and hi-res files.

D50 front panel

The D50 will decode all the usual expected file types, as well as DSD up to DSD256​, PCM up to 32bit/384kHz, and MQA 8x.

The D50 provides unbalanced RCA outputs at 2.5 volts, and fully balances XLR outputs also running at 2.5 volts.

There are six digital inputs in total: a balanced AES/EBU, a coaxial BNC, and coaxial all handling up to 24bit/192kHz / DSD64 (DoP) - two optical inputs handling 24bit/96kHz - and one USB input handling 32bit/384kHz / DSD256 (DoP). All are capable of decoding MQA.
