Perlisten R7t tower speakers

perlisten R7t loudspeakers

produced using the extensive technology developed to create Perlisten's Signature Series, the Reference 7t floorstanding loudspeaker is equally at home producing the subtleties of music as it is the bombastic soundtracks of the biggest blockbuster movies. And that's a very rare quality.

Perlisten at the little audio company,
Perlisten DPC array,

At the heart of every Perlisten loudspeakers is the DPC array - Directivity Pattern Control, provides controlled dispersion in any type of room, and benefits music and home theatre alike.

Perlisten R7t loudspeakers

As with all Perlisten loudspeakers, the R7t is centred around the DPC array (read more here), comprising of three 26mm soft domes in a vertical array. The centre dome is the HF unit, covering frequencies above 4.4kHz. A carefully formed waveguide controls horizontal dispersion to reduce side wall reflections. The same waveguide restricts vertical dispersion even more so, vastly reducing floor and ceiling reflections.

The flanking 26mm midrange domes cover between 1.25kHz and 4.4kHz, producing a more responsive midrange that far less coloured by what would conventionally be a larger driver. Their dispersion is also controlled in line with the HF unit.

The DPC array sits between two 6.5" drivers covering from 1.25kHz downwards to 500Hz, where two more LF drivers at the very top and bottom of the array cover 500Hz and below. All four bass drivers are ported out at the bottom of the cabinet, making them more rear-wall friendly.

This downward firing port can be fully plugged, providing the performance of a sealed, acoustic suspension cabinet. This results in a  more even frequency response across its range, and better transient response.

Used in sealed mode as a bass limited monitor, as you would most likely do in a multi-channel home theatre set up with a subwoofer, the R7t will cover 80Hz-20kHz within a very narrow +/-1.5dB deviation, and produce a massive peak output of 116dB.

All of this tech helps the R7t achieve a THX Dominus rating, capable of effortlessly filling very large rooms with cinema levels of sound quality. Even in ported mode, the R7t still achieves a THX Ultra rating.
