The SB3000 uses a 13", long throw bass driver capable of producing 18Hz - 270Hz at +/- 3dB, which is an impressive range for such a budget subwoofer - better performance than some subwoofers costing twice the price and more.
No driver is anything without suitable amplification though. The SB3000 uses a 800 watt, cool running Class D power amplifier capable of producing 2500 watts in order to cope with the random dynamics of a movie soundtrack.
