The Bluesound Node is now a core product in the world of music streaming. Providing everything you could ever need in an affordable streamer, it can provide digital streaming to all-analogue hi-fi systems, higher quality sound reproduction for TV viewing, as well as being part of a whole-house streaming system. Its list of features is extensive, and is backed up by a stable control app and excellent back up service, hence it was part of our brand line up from day one of the little audio company.

Plug it in, connect to your network (wirelessly or physically), plug into your system, and you're ready to go.

 

First up, network streaming. The Node will see any music files stored on the same network, and if it can't see them straight away, it's very simple to connect to other products to do so. It will support most audio formats from MP3 to hi-res and DSD, and produce them with suitable quality thanks to its ESS 9039Q2M DAC chip.

 

Wireless music streaming is catered for with AirPlay2 for Apple products, and AptX 5.2 Bluetooth for any other phones and tablets, providing quick, easy, reliable wireless streaming. Numerous popular music streaming apps are catered for such as TIDAL Connect, Spotify Connect, QOBUZ etc, giving access to an abundance of online music.

Analogue and digital inputs allow the playback of external physical sources, such as a CD player, media box, or games console. An eARC equipped HDMI input facilitates connection to a TV, routing sound through any system you connect the Node to. Dolby Digital decoding will decode this popular sound format used by most video streaming apps, including the likes of Netflix.

A THX AAA headphone amplifier allows private music listening, meaning at can even be purchased solely as a desktop headphone amplifier. Just add a pair of active loudspeakers and you have a full digital music system, or add it to a 'vintage' analogue hi-fi and bring it fully up to date, adding all the above features plus the likes of Internet Radio streaming as well.

DIRAC Live Room Correction is a room acoustics measurement tool as used in home theatre systems, allowing the Node to correct sound anomalies around the listening position (mic kit required) to provide greater sound quality.

 

As well as being Roon compatible, all Bluesound products have one of the best control apps available, giving access to a plethora of high quality music streaming apps, reliable wireless performance, all controllable via the BluOS control app, or even Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant.

A pair of RCA analogue outputs provide connection to any hifi system, and takes full benefit of the MQA decoding on board via the TIDAL app (fixed or variable output).

​

A subwoofer output will connect directly to a subwoofer, which can then be controlled via the BluOS control app.

​

Coaxial and optical digital outputs will connect directly to a separate DAC for external digital decoding.

​

A 3.5mm jack doubles as an analogue or optical digital input, allows connection of any analogue or digital source component, such as a turntable or Compact Disc player.

​

Bluetooth aptX HD and AirPlay2 provide wireless music streaming from phones and tablets.

​

An eARC equipped HDMI input accepts audio from your TV, allowing sound from your video sources to be routed through the Node, and includes Dolby Digital decoding.

The five dots across the top of the top panel are programmable presets, allowing you to go straight to a preferred input, music streaming service, radio station etc. The line across the middle is a volume slider - run your finger up and down the line to increase or decrease volume. The left and right arrows change input.
