perlisten R7c centre speaker

Perlisten Reference R7c centre speaker

produced using the extensive technology used to create Perlisten's Signature Series, the Reference 7c centre speaker has been developed to provide timbre matched centre information for Perlisten's Reference of loudspeakers.

about Perlisten loudspeakers,
Perlisten DPC array,

At the heart of every Perlisten loudspeakers is the DPC array - Directivity Pattern Control, provides controlled dispersion in any type of room, and benefits music and home theatre alike.

The Perlisten R7c is perfectly matched to the R Series thanks to the DPC array (read more here), comprising of three 26mm soft domes in a vertical array. The centre dome is the HF unit, covering frequencies above 4.4kHz. Using a specially designed waveguide, the output from this unit is controlled on the horizontal plane to reduce dispersion to focus on the listening position, minimising HF reflection from side walls. Vertically, its output is highly controlled, vastly reducing floor and ceiling reflections. The flanking 26mm midrange domes cover between roughly 1.4kHz and 4kHz, producing a more responsive midrange that is far less coloured by what would conventionally be a larger driver.

The DPC array sits between two 6.5" bass drivers covering from around 1.4kHz downwards, acting in a sealed cabinet making them very room friendly. They're flexible enough to also be used as all five loudspeakers in a wall-mounted 5.1 surround system, for example, for those wanting a non in-wall, but discrete high performance system. The further outmost pair of bass drivers play up to around 250Hz, so as the drivers player higher up the range as you approach the central HF unit, helping it to act more like a point-source speaker, and avoid phase issues.

In a typical home theatre setup, the R7c will cover 80Hz-20kHz within only a very narrow +/-2dB deviation, with typical against-wall placement providing a bass response down to 32Hz at -10dB, and produce a peak output of 116.2dB.

All of this tech helps the R7c achieve a THX Ultra rating, capable of effortlessly filling large rooms with cinema levels of sound quality. A THX Dominus rating is achieved when used as surrounds.
