From the compact SB3000 Micro right through to the monstrous SB16 Ultra, American subwoofer manufacturer SVS have long been the benchmark for high performance subwoofers at sensible prices.
Our view is that sealed subwoofers offer a more natural sounding bass that is also easier to integrate into home theatre and hi-fi systems, regardless of the room. We feel they offer superior speed and control over ported subwoofers, and offer a more accurate representation of the source material. They're generally smaller too, making them easier to accommodate. Therefore, we only list the sealed subwoofers on this page, but SVS also make ported versions of most of these subwoofers, which we can provide, but would usually recommend sealed over ported.
