wharfedale denton 1S loudspeakers
The Denton 1S is resurrected and added to Wharfedale's Heritage range of loudspeakers
The original Wharfedale Denton appeared in 1967, based around a single full range driver. In 1974, it received a facelift, giving it a 'modern', curved edge look, moving away from the typical wooden box look, and was designated the Denton 1. The new Denton 1S is based upon that model, and replaces the single driver with a two-way coaxial driver array, producing superior power handling, frequency range, and resolution.

The new driver array consists of a 6.5" enhanced polypropylene mid/bass driver with a 1" silk dome tweeter sitting at its core, which covers a 50Hz-20kHz frequency range at +/-3dB.
The Denton 1S is already a room friendly design with regard to its coaxial design, producing an even in-room response, but on the back panel is a rocker switch that toggles between two different frequency response curves - one for normal free space placement on speaker stands, and another for close wall proximity or shelf mount placement, despite its rear mounted bass reflex port. This gives the Denton 1S a flexibility few loudspeakers share.

The Denton 1S comes in three finishes - white, black, or blue, with a magnetic, removable grille..
