Founded in 1962 by Hideo Matsushita, the company launches the AT-1 and AT-3 moving magnet cartridges.
The following year sees the AT-5 and Audio Technica's first tone-arm, and by 1967, start producing the "dual magnet" system that runs throughout their modern cartridge ranges. Their first hi-fi headphones follow in 1974.
