Audio Technica ATH-ADX5000 headphones,

The open back ATH-ADX5000 are Audio Technica's reference headphone, coming complete with a rather luxurious carry case - a very nice touch! They're designed for long term comfort, weighing only 270 grams and are individually laser etched with their own serial number after being hand assembled in Tokyo.

​

The diaphragms of the oversize 58mm drive units are coated with Tungsten for greater rigidity and greatly improved transient response, producing a frequency response of 5Hz-50,000Hz.  Sensitivity is high at 100dB,  but with an impedance of 420ohms, care needs to be taken to match them with a suitable headphone amplifier.

A magnesium frame provides a stiff, but extremely lightweight base frame for the headphones, onto which the baffle, which houses the driver, the diaphragm, and the magnet, as seen below, are directly fixed.
