Perlisten's18" architectural subwoofer offers in-wall or on-wall installation, allowing monstrous bass without losing the floor space - a discreet option for those that can't accommodate big boxes!
It may weight just shy of 69kg, but the Perlisten R18is subwoofer is designed as an in-wall / on-wall architectural subwoofer. Its design brief was to produce all the performance of the R18s in-room subwoofer, but in a shallower profile that's suitable for mounting on-wall or in-wall, or behind fabric walls. And it certainly delivers.
The 18", bespoke bass driver is designed and made by Perlisten, who claim a +/-31.9mm linear excursion - look out JL!
The sealed cabinet helps produce a smooth in-room response compared to ported subwoofers.
The R18is uses the same downloadable control app as its in-room counterparts, allowing set up and adjustment of the R18is from your listening position. There's three preset modes to choose from (cut, boost, or THX), and a 10-band parametric equaliser can be used to help smooth out its response in your room. Three user presets can be used for easy switching between movie/music listening, or just different EQ curves to suit different film genres.
The R18is can be mounted horizontally or vertically to studwork using the supplied heavyweight brackets, and is driven by an offboard 1500w RMS amplifier, which connects via either unbalanced RCA, balanced XLR, or digital AES2 inputs.
