The Bel Canto C5i integrated amplifier is based around cool running Class D technology, capable of a genuine 60wpc into 8ohms, with an extremely low distortion rate of 0.003% and high damping factor of over 1000. It's capabilities and quality are helped by its HDR Core technology - comprising of ultra-low-noise master clocks, advanced asynchronous interfaces, and dual-mode low-noise high efficiency power supplies.
Don't be fooled by all the technology and digital stuff - the C5i doesn't sound "digital - it sounds as analogue as any analogue amplifier can be.
The brushed aluminium front panel is very simple. - a display showing either input or volume, The low impedance, high output headphone amplifier provides 300mA output from its 6.3mm headphone socket.
The dual-function volume control also chooses input - a simple press allows you to cycle through inputs. A remote control is provided for all functions.
Two coaxial digital inputs and two optical inputs provide for digital sources, and will handle up to 24/192kHz signals. A Type B USB input, ideal for the likes of Innuos music servers to be directly connected.
Two analogue RCA inputs provide for analogue sources - one of these is dedicated for the connection of a high quality, MM cartridge equipped turntable. The other analogue input can be configured for home theatre bypass to enable the C5i to be integrated into home theatre systems
A set of high quality WBT speaker terminals provide a firm connection for spade or banana plugs, and a pair of unbalanced RCA outputs allow the connection of an external power amplifier or a subwoofer or two.
And all this in a smaller box than a Cyrus One amplifier.
