Hegel's story begins in 1988, when company founder Ben Holter researches amplifier design to eliminate the main culprit affecting amplifier sound quality - distortion. Since then, Hegel have produced their own technological approaches to overcome various negative aspects of audio reproduction, enough to make them stand out from a crowded marketplace.
